Description
The Panasonic Lumix G Vario 7-14mm f/4.0 ASPH. Lens for Micro 4/3 mount is an ultra-wide angle zoom lens which has two aspherical lenses and four ED multi-coated elements to minimise ghosting and flare. It has an amazing 114° angle of view and large-diameter glass moulded lens elements that help display brightness over the entire zoom range.
This lens is an excellent pairing with our Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, allowing the use of wide to moderate focal length shooting, despite the cameras 2.88x crop factor. This lens is regarded to be superbly sharp even when shot wide open at f/4, with f/5.6 providing peak performance. Whilst f/4 will provide you with ample control over depth of field or lack thereof, the M43 format provides substantial DOF when you stop a lens such as this down to f/8 – f/11, much more so than larger full frame sensors. Distortion is well controlled across the frame, naturally as an ultra wide angle zoom, close up subjects will have a typical ultra wide look – however the 7-14mm f/4 does a great job of controlling the barrel distortion, especially on the 14mm end.
This lens operates with contrast AF system support and has a micro four thirds mount that will work on any compatible camera. Please let us know what camera you will be using it with when booking this lens so we can do our best to ensure compatibility.
Note that due to the curvature of the front element, this lens does not accept screw-on filters
