The Laowa 12mm ZERO-D by Venic Optics. This is a 12mm ultra wide-angle lens with a 122° angle of view. This makes it ideal for outdoor and landscape shots and in tight interior locations. The PL-mount is compatible with all digital cinematography cameras. In addition, the lens is both lightweight and compact. This makes it idea for handheld or gimbal shooting. The lens produces an image circle that will cover full-frame, VistaVision, and ARRI ALEXA Mini LF sized sensors or smaller.
The 12mm cine lens features a maximum aperture of T2.9. In addition, it contains 16 elements in 10 groups. The 7-blade aperture provides a soft, pleasing bokeh. In addition, a shallow depth of field with little to no distortion. Finally, the 12mm has a 7″ close focus distance.
The focus and aperture rings feature industry-standard 0.8 pitch gearing. Thus, the Laowa 12mm fits standard cine follow focus motors. The 102mm front diameter is converted to 114mm using the included adapter. This will fit industry-standard matte boxes. Finally, focus, aperture, and depth of field markings are in feet. These are located on the side of the lens to aid focus pullers.
