Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Camera

The Canon EOS RP is a lightweight mirrorless camera with a 26.2MP Full-Frame sensor. It’s RF lens mount is designed for a new generation of lenses. These lenses are both faster and smaller than their SLR equivalents. The camera is compatibile with existing EF and EF-S-mount lenses via an EF-EOS R Mount Adapter (included in the camera kit).

The EOS RP supports UHD 4K 30 fps video recording at 120 Mb/s, along with 1080p at 60 fps.

Description

The Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Camera features a high-resolution 26.2MP (6240 x 4160) full-frame CMOS sensor. In addition, it’s image processor enables a wide native ISO range of 100-40000. Also, fast continuous shooting up to 5 fps and UHD 4K30 video recording. The sensor features a Dual Pixel CMOS AF system. This system uses 4779 selectable on-sensor phase-detection points for quick and accurate focus. In addition, the Auto-focus works even in video and live view modes.

The Canon EOS RP features Canon’s new RF-Mount.  This system allows the use of both RF and EF lenses (with an adapter). This mount uses a 12-pin electronic contact system for faster and increased metadata transfer. This enables improved autofocus, image stabilisation and lens aberration compensation. The EOS RP accepts LP-E17 batteries and has a single SD card slot. It is both smaller and lighter compared to the Canon EOS R Mirrorless camera.

The EOS RP supports UHD 4K recording at up to 30 fps. Internal 4K video is recorded at 4:2:0 8-bit, with 4:2:2 8-bit external recording possible through HDMI out.
