The ARRI Alura 15.5-45mm T2.8 F Wide-Angle Zoom is a lightweight PL-mount cinema lens. It covers Super35-sized camera sensors and resolves 4K+ cameras. In addition, the 15.5-45mm Alura features a fast T2.8 to T22 aperture range. Both the 15.5 to 45mm and 30-80mm Alura lenses colour-match ARRI’s wide selection of cinema lenses.
The Alura’s optical features include high resolution and contrast performance. A multilayer coating reduces flares and veiling. Also reducing chromatic aberration, and minimised breathing while focusing. A nine-blade iris produces a rounded, natural-looking bokeh (out-of-focus highlights). The lens also supports the ARRI Lens Data System (LDS). This communicates lens data electronically to compatible cameras and devices. For example, focus mapping, tracking, and distance measurement.
The focus, zoom, and iris barrels are compatible with 0.8 MOD gears. This interfaces with industry-standard lens accessories such as follow focus units and wireless FIZ controls. Finally, both sides of the lens barrel have large focus scales.
